Play’n GO traces Rich Wilde series from 2013 debut to Book of Dead and later spin-offs

Play’n GO lists Rich Wilde and the Book of Dead as released on 14 January 2016. The game takes the explorer to Ancient Egypt in search of the Book of Dead.

The supplier says the Free Spins feature selects a symbol that expands when it contributes to a winning combination.

Play’n GO’s own history of the series says Book of Dead was not Rich Wilde’s first appearance. In a history editorial, the company describes it as his third adventure after Aztec Idols, released in 2013, and Pearls of India, which its catalogue dates to 8 October 2014.

The Pearls of India catalogue entry identifies Rich Wilde as the character in that earlier title.

Wider cast and later titles

Play’n GO’s later accounts describe a broader Wilde cast that includes Rich’s daughter, Cat Wilde, and Uncle Gerard.

The company identifies Cat Wilde and the Doom of Dead, released in 2020, Cat Wilde in the Eclipse of the Sun God, released in 2021, and Gerard’s Gambit as part of the family’s adventures. Its 2024 series overview also names Rich Wilde and the Tome of Madness and Rich Wilde and the Shield of Athena.

On 7 May 2024, Play’n GO published a history editorial saying it was waiting for Rich Wilde and the Tome of Insanity.

In a separate announcement dated 30 May 2024, the supplier described Tome of Insanity as a release and a sequel to Tome of Madness. That announcement came just over three weeks after the earlier preview.
